Scoring Crew Job Description:
There are eight cross country races in 2016, three east, three west and two north of Toronto. We require two volunteers for each event, preferably you will sign up for at least half of the events.
The job requires you to be at the event ready to work for 7:00 AM rain or shine and work to about 4PM (after about 1:00PM things settle down and there is much less to do- generally just filling in and light help). You will be registering riders and populating the race timer data base ensuring riders are entered into the correct class, have working transponders and have paid at registration. To perform this work you must have a basic understanding of the race program and classes, some computer and keyboard skills and a desire to help and work with people.
In particular, there are typically four races through the day, a pewee race early in the day, a morning youth race, the remaining morning program and the afternoon adult races. Riders are registered and each race is configured on the computer the scoring director may require your assistance compiling, printing and displaying race results. The scoring director will provide training on the computer scoring system and the registration process.
You will receive $150 for each event worked. Please send an e-mail expressing your interest to scoring@offroadontario.ca before February 29th 2016
NOTE:
If you are on the fence and not sure we may have a half day training session where you can come and a couple of more experienced volunteers will demonstrate and train you on the program before you commit to any events.
